HAS DANIEL RICCIARDO LOST HIS TOUCH?

After a late and controversial entrace last season, this famous Honey Badger has been struggling with performance leaving his spot at stake.

Ricciardo, who once drove for Red Bull’s main team

What we Know:

Daniel Ricciardo is a well loved driver that once drove for Red Bull, Mclaren, and Renault (now Alpine). He’s found his most success at Red Bull, but decided to leave for Renault after Max Verstappen’s dominance at Red Bull. Since then, his career has been up and down.

Ricciardo couldn’t find an active driving spot after being dropped by Mclaren, but was then recruited to help with media duties at Red Bull as a reserve driver. It wasn’t until their sister team, formly Scuderia Toro Rosso, asked Ricciardo to step in after Nick de Vries poor performance. Quickly after, Ricciardo broke his hand which led him to miss a couple races that 2023 season.

While it wasn’t too alarming then, Ricciardo’s under performance compared to his teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, has become an issue in 2024. Ricciardo has been consistently out driven by his less-seasoned teammate.

What’s Next for Danny Ric?

Again, We don’t know. Circuling rumors are saying Daniel Ricciardo has 2 more races (Japan and China) to prove himself to RB’s team principal. If he doesn’t, media outlets believe that he will be replaced by reserve driver, Liam Lawson.
